No fee until you hire.
No retainer. No search fee. No invoice until a candidate you select is hired and contracted. Get in touch and we'll give you the exact rate for your situation before anyone is presented.
When the fee may be different
Our placement fee reflects the cost to source, vet, and present a Medicare Advantage or Med Supp agent in your market. Several factors can make a placement meaningfully harder — or easier — and pricing reflects that reality. Every rate is disclosed before you commit to anything.
Specialty agent requirements
Bilingual agents (Spanish, Mandarin, Creole, etc.), agents with dual licensure across multiple states, agents with both Medicare Advantage and DSNP/I-SNP experience, or other narrow specialty credentials shrink the available pool and require longer sourcing timelines. Fees for specialty placements may be higher to reflect that additional work.
High-difficulty markets
States with very limited licensed-agent pools — Alaska, Wyoming, Vermont, and similar small markets — involve more sourcing effort per placement than large markets like Florida or Texas. When demand significantly outstrips available supply in a given state, a modest adjustment may apply.
Volume arrangements
Agencies hiring five or more agents in a single engagement may qualify for a reduced per-agent rate. Volume discounts are negotiated before placement begins and documented in the placement agreement. Contact us to discuss what a volume arrangement looks like for your specific situation.
Agency-specific factors
Contract terms, carrier relationships, or onboarding complexity can occasionally affect the fee. If your agency has specific requirements that change the scope of what we do on your behalf, we'll discuss and agree on the appropriate rate before any work begins.
How it compares
Traditional health insurance recruiting and Medicare-specific staffing firms charge in ways that bear no relationship to how much value they delivered. Amerance is structured differently.
| Model | Typical cost per hire | Retainer / search fee | Pay if no hire? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Amerance (placement fee) | Contact for rate | None | No |
| Traditional recruiter (contingency) | 15–25% of first-year compensation | Often required | Retainer not refunded |
| Staffing agency | Markup on hourly/salary | Sometimes | Sometimes |
| Job board posting | $200–$500+ per posting | N/A | Yes — fee regardless of outcome |
A Medicare agent producing at average AEP volume earns in the range of $60,000–$120,000 in first-year commissions. A traditional contingency recruiter charging 20% of that would invoice $12,000–$24,000 for a single placement. Our flat placement fee is a fraction of that — contact us to get your rate.
Common questions about pricing
When exactly does the fee become due?
The placement fee is due when a candidate you selected is contracted with your agency. "Hired" means the agent has signed the necessary contracting paperwork and is moving forward — not when they submit their first application. If a candidate withdraws before completing contracting, no fee is charged.
What if I review candidates but don't hire anyone?
No charge. You can receive and review as many candidate profiles as we source and owe nothing unless and until you decide to bring someone on. There is no fee for reviewing or interviewing candidates.
Is the fee per agent or per engagement?
Per placed agent. Each hire is invoiced separately when contracting is complete. Contact us to discuss the rate that applies to your volume.
How do I know if my situation might trigger a rate adjustment?
Discuss your requirements when you submit your request. If anything about your needs — specialty credentials, market, volume, or timeline — suggests a different rate applies, we'll tell you before presenting any candidates. You'll never receive an unexpected invoice.
Is there a contract?
Yes. A straightforward placement agreement is issued before any candidates are presented. It documents the placement fee, any applicable adjustments, and the terms of the 30-day replacement guarantee. You can review it before committing to anything. See our guarantee page for the full guarantee terms.
